For many years I have worked with people who have been diagnosed with some form of dementia and with their families and caregivers. I have also collaborated with professionals in the community who provide care to those who have dementia. What I found was a lack of support and education to all who been touched by dementia. One of the highlights of my work is being able to facilitate a support group for loved ones who are in need of validation, education, compassion and a listening ear. The other joy is providing education to anyone in the community who wants to learn more about dementia, care giving techniques, resources and support. It is an honor and blessing to be volunteer for the Dementia Connection of Havasu.
