I am a retired R.N., and worked most of my nursing career in the field of Geriatrics. I have had the opportunity to care for many patients with many different types of dementia. My journey became personal while caring for my father-in-law, who had mild cognitive impairment, until a fall with head injury catapulted him into advanced dementia. Our last days with Dad were bittersweet, but also provided some of the most rewarding experiences. Dementia Connection has given me an opportunity to “give back” through support and education, not only for those touched by dementia, but for the general population as well. I am committed to elevating awareness of the many causes of Dementia, and supporting patients and caregivers on their journey.
