I found my passion 15 years ago as a teenage volunteer at a local nursing home. I took a special liking to those living with dementia, as I was able to connect with them through a variety of activities and personal one-on-one interaction. This is why it brings me great joy being a board member of the Alzheimer’s /dementia connection of havasu because it reflects what I love to do: Give care to those in need. To be a part of a committee that offers caregivers in our community the education and support that is needed to help those living with memory loss is a great feeling. Being able to volunteer, doing activities at one of our support groups, allows me to contribute.
